About NIMCET: National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are Institutes of National Importance and are Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. The NIMCET is NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, a National Level Test conducted by NITs for admission in to their MCA pr ogramme. The admission to the MCA pr ogramme in to NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal for the year 2016 – 17 is based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET – 2016 only.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates, with 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in Bachelor’s degree of Full Time 3 years duration from a recognized University with Mathematics / Statistics / Business Maths. as one of the subjects in any one semester/year, both in graduation and at 10+2 level are eligible. For SC/ST candidates the percentage of marks required is 55%(6.0/10 CGPA). Those candidates who are appearing for the qualifying examinations are also eligible to appear for the test. However, they will have to furnish proof of having passed in the qualifying examination, with 60% marks, at the time of counselling / admission. Indian Nationals only are eligible to appear for the NIMCET. BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full – time OR BE / B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University are eligible to appear for NIMCET – 2016 test.

Admit Card: Download the admit card on 16 May, 2016 at any time and write the NIMCET – 2016 test which is scheduled to be conducted on Tentative 29th May 2016 ( Sunday ) between 10.00 A.M and 12.00 noon at various test centers listed in Table 1 of Section 10 . Candidates should be present in the examination hall of the test center before 9. 30 am. Syllabus and test pattern are given in this brochure.

Test Pattern: NIMCET – 2016 test will be conducted with only one question paper containing 120 multiple choice questions covering the following subjects . Multiple Choice Questions will be written in English Language only and will not be translated into any other language.

Mathematics	50 questions
Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning	40 questions
Computer Awareness	10 questions
General English	20 questions

Application Fee : The non – refundable processing Fee for NIMCET – 2015 test and counseling for admission to the MCA programme is Rs 1,800/- for OPEN/OBC category andRs 900/- for SC/ST category candidates . Candidates have to deposit an appropriate amount relevant to their categories

How to Apply : Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for the entrance test through the website for NIMCET. Candidates may apply online for the post Candidates fill the online application correctly and completely. Other mode will not be accepted Online application starts form 03 March, 2016 & Lasts upto 18 April, 2016. Candidates have to upload scanned photo and scanned signature on the application form after filling the online application candidates take a print out of online application along with the relevant documents and application should be reach at  “The Secretary, NIMCET- 2016, National Institute of Technology, M.G Avenue, Durgapur – 713209” by Speed Post/ Registered Post so as to reach on or before 18th April, 2016.
