UPSC CDS Exam Pattern And Syllabus

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) organizes exam of Combined Defence Service for various posts in Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and  Air Force Academy. Information about Exam pattern and Exam syllabus is given here-

Exam Pattern:-

For Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy and  Air Force Academy:-

Paper-I	English (Objective type)	100 Marks	2 Hours
Paper-II	General Knowledge (Objective type)	100 Marks	2 Hours
Paper-III	Elementary Mathematics  (Objective type)	100 Marks	2 Hours

For Officers’ Training Academy:-

Written Exam	Subject	Total Marks	Total Time Duration
Paper-I	English (Objective type)	100 Marks	2 Hours
Paper-II	General Knowledge (Objective type)	100 Marks	2 Hours

Candidates who qualifies the written exam will be called for SSB Interview. Marks for SSB Interview is given below-

• SSB Interview Marks For IMA, NA and AFA- 300 marks
• SSB Interview Marks For OTA- 200 marks

Exam Syllabus:-

English: It will be test of english comprehension. questions will be asked from antonyms, synonyms, grammar, one word substitution, idioms & phrases etc.

General Knowledge: Question will be asked from Indian History, Indian Polity, Current Events, Geography, Economy etc.

Elementary Mathematics: Questions will be asked from

(i) Arithmetic (ii) Algebra (iii) Trigonometry (iv) Geometry (v) Mensuration (vi) Statistics
