Assam PSC Forest Rangers Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Assam Public Service Commission is going to organize Forest Service Examination-2014 for the recruitment to the posts of Forest Ranger. Exam pattern & Syllabus for the Forest Rangers exam is discussed in this article.

Exam Pattern:- Written exam consist of 600 marks. There are Three Papers in the written examination.

Compulsory Subjects:-

2	General Knowledge	Multiple choice Objective type	100	2 Hour

Optional Subjects:-

Candidate have to choose any two subjects as optional Subject. There are two written exam for Optional Subjects.

Candidates who qualifies the written exam will be called for Interview. Maximum marks for the Interview shall be 75.

(ii) Botany
(iii) Chemistry
(iv) Computer Applications/Computer Science
(v) Engineering(Agricultural/ Chemical/Civil/Computer/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical)
(vi) Environmental Science
(vii) Forestry
(viii) Geology
(ix) Horticulture
(x) Mathematics
(xi) Physics
(xii) Statistics
(xiii) Veterinary Science
(xiv) Zoology

No candidate shall be allowed to take more than one subject from the following groups:
(i) Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Veterinary Science
(ii) Chemical Engineering & Chemistry
(iii) Computer Applications/Computer Science & Computer Engineering
(iv) Electrical Engineering & Electronics Engineering
(v) Mathematics & Statistics.

Exam Syllabus:-

General English:- Questions will be of Comprehensive type. Candidate are ask to write an Essay, Letter, Precis writing, Comprehension type Questions.

General Knowledge:-  Questions will be ask from the following topics:-

• Indian Polity & Political System of India.
• Current events of National & International Importance.
• Indian Economy & Planning Process in India.
• Geography of India, Assam & World.
• Role of Science & Technology in India.
• Culture & Literature in Assam, India & World.
• History Of India & Assam.
• Indian National Movement with special reference to Assam.
