CRPF Tradesman Syllabus 2016-17
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of Male and Female Constable (Tradesman) for various trades such as Driver, Fitter, Bugler, Tailor, Cobbler, Carpenter, Painter, Gardener, Pipe Band, Cook, Water Carrier, Safai Karamchari, Barber, Washerman and Hair Dresser etc. Nowadays Competition Level become very high so Competitive Exams gets too tougher. So, Candidates are too much tensed or stressed about their preparation to give their best in exam. Candidates facing critical problem of “What to prepare” and “How to prepare”. So, here we are providing the latest Syllabus & Exam Pattern of Constable (Tradesman) Exam conducting by CRPF.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Driver & Fitter/PTR/Cobbler/Carpenter/Tailor/Brass Band/Pipe Band/Mali/Bugler → 05 Kms race to be completed in 24 minutes by male candidates and 1.6 Kilometer race by female candidates during 08.30 minutes. For the Ladakh region, PET will comprise of 1 mile race(for male) and 800 meters (for female) to be completed within 06.30 minutes and 04 minutes respectively.
For Other posts → 1.6 Kms race to be completed within 10 minutes by male candidates and 12 minutes by female candidate.
Written Test

Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Constable Tradesman written Exam is as Follows :-
- The written test will be conducted on OMR basis.
- The time duration will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
- The written test will be of 100 marks consisting of two parts, i.e., Part-I – Knowledge expected from a Class 10th pass candidates and Part-II relating to knowledge of the Trade.
- Each part of Question Paper will consist of 50 objective type multiple choice questions carrying 01 mark each. Cut off marks for written examination will be 35% for General and Ex-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC candidate.
- The questions will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the option to answer either in Hindi or English.
Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Constable Tradesman written test is given below :-
General Awareness/Knowledge : History, Geography and Socio Economic development of India. Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.
Knowledge of elementary Mathematics : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.
Reasoning Ability : It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.
General Hindi/English : Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc.
Trade/Profession Related : Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions on the subject concerned as per the qualification prescribed in the Recruitment Rules and related to the trade/profession under the several posts.
Trade Test
Trade test/practical assessment to be done in two events as subjective and objective i.e. practical assessment and written skill, which will be qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks for practical Trade Test, a candidate must secure 20 marks to qualify. The details are as under :
