NABARD Exam Syllabus 2016
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development eminently known as NABARD will going to conduct an ONLINE Written exam for recruitment  to post of Assistant Manager and Manager under Grade A & B. As we all know that Post of AM is very prestigious & taking greater knowledge with responsibility. So NABARD conduct this Exam in two Phases.
As the Time Goes, competition for competitive exam gets tougher & Standard of Exam is also very high. EXAM  PATTERN
Phase I (Preliminary Exam)
Phase I will be Online Written exam consisting of 200 marks. Scheme of Exam is as follows:-

  • Total Time Duration of exam is 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
  • There will be penalty for wrong answers i.e. for every wrong answer, one-fourthof the mark assigned to that question will be deducted from those obtained by the candidates.
Phase II (Main Exam)
Candidates who are qualified in Phase-I exam will be Appeared in Phase-II exam. In Phase-II examination there are three papers.
Paper-I (Writing skills online through key board) General English: (Descriptive) – 100 marks
► The analytical and drafting ability of the candidate shall be assessed from the Descriptive English paper through essay writing, comprehension, report writing, paragraph writing & Letter writing.
► Duration: 1½ hrs.
Paper-II : (MCQ) – 100 marks
► Economic and Social Issues and Agriculture and Rural Development.
► Duration: 1½ hrs.
Paper III (only for Managers in Grade ‘A’) : (MCQ) – 100 marks
► Analytical Paper on Development Economics, Statistics, Finance and Management.
► Duration: 1½ hrs.
EXAM  SYLLABUS
Phase I (Preliminary Exam)
Exam Syllabus for NABARD Phase I Exam is given below:-
Reasoning :- Focus on Comprehension Reasoning, Venn Diagrams, Number Series, Coding and de-coding, Problem Solving Techniques, Statement & Conclusion type questions,  arithmetic reasoning, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, syllogistic reasoning, Seating Arrangements.
English Language :- Mainly Focus on the topics like Synonyms, Antonyms,  Sentence Error, Sentence correction, fill in the blanks, Comprehension & Cloze Test etc.
Quantitative Aptitude :- Questions will be asked from Simplification, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF LCM, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Date Interpretation is the section which have to be focused.
General Awareness :- Questions will be asked from Indian Current Events, Banking, General Science, General Knowledge. Focus will be mainly on Current affairs of National & International news, Important dates, Current Science, Technology, Sports & Culture & Banking Sector. Some questions from Marketing can come in the exam.
Computer Awareness :- Basic of Computers, Computer Organization, Generations of computer, Input & Output Device, Shortcuts & Basic knowledge MS word, MS Excel, MS power point, Memory Orientation, Internet, LAN, WAN, Modem, Computer Abbreviations, Modern day Technology. Remember short cut Tricks of MS Word, MS Excel & Computer Abbreviations.
Phase II (Main Exam)

Factors of Production in agriculture; Agricultural Finance and Marketing; Impact of Globalization on Indian Agriculture and issues of Food Security; Concept and Types of Farm Management.
1. Agriculture: definition, meaning and its branches, Agronomy: definition, meaning and scope of agronomy. Classification of field crops. Factors affecting on crop production, Agro Climatic Zones; Cropping Systems: Definition and types of cropping systems. Problems of dry land agriculture; Seed production, seed processing, seed village; Meteorology: weather parameters, crop-weather advisory; Precision Farming, System of Crop Intensification, organic farming;
a) Soil and Water Conservation: Major soil types, soil fertility, fertilizers, soil erosion, soil conservation, watershed management;

d) Plantation & Horticulture : Definition, meaning and its branches. Agronomic practices and production technology of various plantation and horticulture crops. Post-harvest management, value and supply chain management of Plantation and Horticulture crops.
e) Animal Husbandry: Farm animals and their role in Indian economy, Animal husbandry methods in India, common terms pertaining to different species of livestock, Utility-10-classification of breeds of cattle. Introduction to common feeds and fodders, their classification and utility. Introduction to poultry industry in India (past, present and future status), Common terms pertaining to poultry production and management. Concept of mixed farming and its relevance to socio-economic conditions of farmers in India. Complimentary and obligatory nature of livestock and poultry production with that of agricultural farming.
