NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses as per Section (10) of Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
NEET-PG is a single window entrance examination for PG courses. No otherentrance examination, either at state or institution level, shall be valid for entry to MD/MS/PG Diploma Courses as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 w.e.f. 2017 admission session.
NEET-PG 2017 shall be a single eligibility cum entrance examination namely ‘National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses’ for the academic session 2017 which will include the following:
- All India 50% quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses (all states except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
- State quota seats for MD/MS/PG Diploma courses for all States/Union territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana)
- MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at all Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the country
- MD/MS/PG Diploma courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions.

What is NEET : NEET is abbreviation of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. NEET is a Common Entrance Test conducted for Admission in various Private & Government Medical College. It is an alternative of All Other Medical Entrance Exam.
Process for NEET 2016 : As Supreme Court has given Approval for conducting NEET Exam from this Year, NEET 2016 Schedule has been out. NEET Exam will be conducted in two Phases. AIPMT 2016 Exam will be Treated as First Phase. It is well Known that AIPMT 2016 will be conducted on 01 May, 2016. NEET 2 Exam will be conducted on 24 July, 2016. Result for NEET 2016 Phase 1, Phase 2 will be declared on 17 August, 2016.
Application for NEET Phase 2 : Candidates who had not applied for AIPMT 2016 Exam, can apply for NEET 2 Exam. Application for NEET 2016 will be started from 21 May, 2016. Candidates can Apply Online upto 20 June, 2016. Both NEET 1 & NEET 2 Exam will be conducted in Hindi & English.
NOTE : Candidates who took Part in NEET 1 or AIPMT will not be allowed to take part in NEET 2. If a Candidates is absence in AIPMT 2016, then also he will not allowed to appear for NEET 2.
