Meghalaya Police Central Recruitment Board is going to start Constable and Sub Inspector Recruitment Test-2016 for Unarmed & Armed Branch Sub Inspector, Constable, Fireman etc. Aspirants who have applied against these posts in Police Cadre will have to face a Recruitment Test in form of PET, Written examination, Interview, PMT. There will consist one paper only, comprising of Elementary and basic knowledge of English, Basic Arithmetic and Basic General Awareness. This paper will be on OMR based/ MCQ. Total marks of this paper is 150 Marks.
Exam Syllabus :- Meghalaya Police exam Syllabus is given below :
General English : Précis writing, essay writing, drafting and English Grammar – Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms, Antonyms, Spellings correction, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Active/Passive Voice, Direct/Indirect speech, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Comprehension Passage.
Elementary Mathematics/ Arithmetic : Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Time and distance, Time and work, geometry, area, volume, mensuration, trigonometry.
Elementary/ Basic Science : General science (science, biology, chemistry, physics), daily every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected from any educated person who do not require a special study of scientific subjects, balanced diet, protein, vitamins, diarrhea, diseases due to lack of vitamin and prevention, importance of food items in various disease, vaccination, types of water source, quality standard of drinking water, aquifer, electro-magnetism etc.
Reasoning : Analogy, Symbolic operations, Space Orientation, Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Series, Embedded figures, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding.
General Knowledge based mainly on Meghalaya : Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Meghalaya especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
