GATE 2017 Notification/ Apply Online

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of the candidate in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) jointly administer the conduct of GATE. The operations related to GATE in each of the 8 zones are managed by a zonal GATE Office at the IITs or IISc. The Organizing Institute (OI) is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination amongst the administering Institutes. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is the Organzing Institute for GATE 2017.

Eligibility:-  Candidates in the following categories ONLY are eligible to appear for GATE:

• Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2/Post-Diploma) and those who are in the final year of such programs
• Candidates in the final year of the Four-year Bachelor’s degree program in Science (B.S.)
• Master’s degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs.
• Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master’s degree program (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology.

Application Fee:- Application fee is Rs. 1500/-  for General/OBC male candidates, Rs. 750/-  for female candidates and Rs. 750/-  for the SC/ST/PWD category candidates.

The application fee can be paid either online or through e-challan. The application fee is non refundable.

How To Apply:-

All candidates have to apply only ONLINE. Candidates can apply online only from01.09.2016 to 04.10.2016 through GATE GOAPS website and no other mode of application will be accepted.
