India Post has recently invited prescribed application form for the various posts of Gramin Dak Sevak in Various State/Circle. Many Candidates have applied to be the GDS in their State or Circle of Choice. The Application was in Online mode. There were many vacancies in every state or circle. The circles were Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, North Eastern, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

The minimum educational qualification was 10th standard. There was the essential requirement of Computer Knowledge. Those candidates who have the knowledge of Computer operating were eligible for these posts.

Selection Procedure :- Those candidates who have applied for these posts are very much tensed about the Selection Process of Gramin Dak Sevak. So we want to clarify their doubts of selection. Like the previous recruitments of India Post GDS, this recruitment will be based on the Merit List. When the application process will be wrapped, the Recruitment Authority will reckon the available candidates. The merit List will be prepared on the basis of the ratio of available candidates and required posts.

Merit List :- As we know the Final selection will be made on the prepared Merit List. The Candidates will be get to know about the Upcoming Merit List very soon. Important Points :- We want to tell all the aspirants some important points about the selection process of India Post Gramin Dak Sevak. Kindly take a look at the following :-

Computer Knowledge : All the candidates who have applied for the GDS, should know that the Merit List will comprise the quality of Computer Knowledge. The candidate should have computer knowledge and will be required to furnish basic computer training certificate for at least 60 days from a recognized Computer Training Institute. Certificates from Central Government/ state Government/ University/ Boards etc., will also be acceptable for this purpose.

Residence :The Candidate selected for the post of GDS BPM must mandatorily take up his/her residence in the branch post office village within one month after selection but before engagement as Graming Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster. The Candidate shall submit a declaration to this effect  in the application.

Adequate Means of Livelihood : The Candidate applying for the post shall note that he/she will have adequate means of livelihood to support himself/herself family. However this shall not be a pre requisite for the candidates for the purpose. selected candidates shall be required to comply with this condition within 30 days after selection but before engagement.

Furnishing of Security : The Candidates applying for the post shall note that he/she shall furnish security amount of Rs. 25,000 in the event of his/her engagement for the post of BPM and rS. 10,000 for other categories.
