Gun Carriage Factory Jabalpur Exam Syllabus 2014

Gun Carriage Factory, Ministry of Defense, Jabalpur will conduct a Written exam for recruitment of posts of Trained Graduate Teacher (English Language). The standard of Competition level is raising with the time period as we are going onwards and time passing away rapidly. So candidate should knows that what should they have to prepare for their performance in examination. Candidates who are going to face this exam and are ignoramus about the scheme and syllabus. Now, here we are providing recommended latest exam pattern and syllabus.

Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for Photographer written Exam is as Follows:

► The written test will be multiple choice/objective type.
► The Time Duration will be 03:00 hours (180 minutes).

Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for TGT (Eng. Lang.) written Exam is given below :-

Part I

CORE LANGUAGE COMPETENCY – The candidate should have adequate understanding of English and Hindi to deal with students of Elementary Classes. The ability to comprehend texts and express them effectively in writing/orally will be measured through Written Test and Teaching Skill Test.

English & Hindi : Articles/Determines, Prepositions, Verb forms, Adjectives, Tense, Modal Auxiliaries, Active/Passive, Reported speech, Punctuations, Letter Writing-formal & informal, Essay on current issues, Speech, vocabulary, idioms and phrases, Antonym & Synonyms, Methods of teaching English at Elementary level.

Part II

Current Affairs : In this objective of questions about general knowledge of surrounding society of the candidates to test the awareness about surrounding activities. Questions will also be  included towards a scientist sight and thinking which expected from an educated person. So, candidates should must focus on affairs about India and its adjacent countries too. Scientific Progress/Development, National/International Awards, Indian Languages, Books, Script, Capital, Currency, Sports-Athlete such as essential knowledge.

Reasoning & Numerical Ability : Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning. The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

English Language : The standard of the questions/level of difficulty of questions in the written examination will be Graduation/Degree level.

Reading Comprehension (Section –A)

Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret an unseen text : Three/four unseen texts of varying lengths (150-250 words) with a variety of objective type, multiple choice questions (including questions to test vocabulary) testing factual and global comprehension.

Writing ability (Section-B)

Testing ability to express facts views/opinions in a coherent and logical manner in a style suitable to the task set.

► One short writing task such as: notice, message or a postcard.
► Writing a report of an event, process, or place.
► Writing an article/debate/speech based on visual/verbal input on a given current topic for e.g. environment, education, child labour, gender bias, drug-abuse etc presenting own views fluently.
► Writing a letter (formal/informal) on the basis of verbal/visual input. Letter types include : (a) letter to the editor; (b) letter of complaint; (c) letter of request; (d) descriptive, personal letters.

Grammar and Usage (Section -C)

Ability to apply the knowledge of syntax, language/grammatical items and to use them accurately in context. The following grammatical structures will be tested :

(2) Modals
(3) Voice
(4)Subject-verb concerned
(5)Connectors
(6)Clauses
(7)Parts of speech
(8)Punctuation
(9)Sequencing to form a coherent sentence or a paragraph.

Literature(Section –D)

To test the candidate’s familiarity with the works of writers of different genres and periods of English Literature. The candidate should have a thorough knowledge of :-

√ Shakespeare’s works.
√ Romantic Period (e.g. Shelly, Wordsworth, Keats, Coleridge, Byron etc.)
√ 19th & 20th Century American and English Literature (e.g. Robert Frost Hemingway, Ted Hudges, Whitman, Hawthrone, Emily Dickinson, Bernard Shaw etc.)
√ Modern Indian Writing in English (e.g. Anita Desai, Vikram Sethi, Nissim Ezekiel, K.N. Daruwala, Ruskin Bond, R.K. Narayan, Mulk Raj Anand, Khushwant Singh etc.)
√ Modern Writings in English from different parts of the world.
