Sashastra Seema Bal Exam Syllabus 2016

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is going to recruit 2068 posts of Constable (Driver, Cook, Washerman, Barber, Safaiwala and Water Carrier).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

All candidates will have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test, which will be qualifying in nature and the candidate must qualify the event as under :-

Male	4.8 Kms. Race in 24 minutes
Female	2.4 Kms. Race in 18 minutes

► Ex-servicemen are exempted from Physical Efficiency Test.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

The Candidates who qualify the Physical Efficiency Test will have to undergo Physical Standard Test. Ex-servicemen are exempted from PST. However, their actual height, weight and chest measurements will be recorded:-

Constable (Driver) :

Written Examination

Exam Pattern :- Scheme of SSB Constable exam will be as follows :

► The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
► There will be a question paper carrying 100 questions of total 100 marks.
► The duration of test will be 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
► Minimum qualifying marks for Paper-I for all posts will be:- 50% for General; 45% for SC/ST/OBC.

Exam Syllabus :- SSB Constable Exam Syllabus is discussed below :

General Knowledge : History, Geography and Socio Economic development of India. Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History (From 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.

Numerical Ability : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc.

General English & Hindi : Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc.

General Reasoning : It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.

Trade Test :- The Trade Test will be of 50 marks and the minimum qualifying marks for all candidates including SC/ST/OBC category candidates will be 60%. The final merit will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained in Common Entrance Test (CET) and Trade Test.
