Department of Environment & Forests, Assam is recruiting various posts. Here’s the selection process of all posts and syllabus for its exam.
Exam Pattern :- Scheme of Forest Dept. exam is as follows :

Junior AssistantWritten Test for 3 hrs
(a) General English
(b) General Knowledge
(c) General Arithmetic
(a) Computer Eligibility Test
(b) Typing Test
Forest GuardWritten Test for 2 hrs
(a) General Mathematics of Higher Secondary or Equivalent Standard.
(b) English dictation.
(c) General Knowledge.
Physical Fitness Test
Draftsman & Surveyori) Drawing
ii) Mensuration
iii) Application of Arc GIS and others GIS software in management & mapping of forests & natural resource.
Carpenter & Electric Mistry(i) The candidate shall be required to appear in a skill demonstration test conducted by a competent authority in the presence of Recruitment Committee.
(ii) Upto 20% weightage shall be given to the candidates who have worked as casual employees with Department @ 2% weightage for each completed year of service rendered.
Exam Syllabus :- Assam Forest Guard & Jr. Assistant syllabus is given below :
General English – In this part, questions related to Knowledge of English language and writing ability will be asked. Questions from this part will be standard of 10th class of Assam Board or equivalent.
General Knowledge – This part of question paper is to assess the candidates’ ability regarding general knowledge about his/her surroundings and about its use in society. In this test such a question which will be kept to check current events and everyday science and the facts of experience which may include historical and geographical facts. (Specially Related to India) and judged them to the knowledge of the scientific aspects, which can be expected of any educated person.
General Arithmetic – Number systems, Computation of whole numbers, Decimals and fractions, Relationship between numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ration and Proportion, Profit and Loss, Simple Interest, Average, Discount, Partnership, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration.
