The University of Burdwan is one of the premier institutes of higher education in eastern India. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of UGC designated it as a B++ University in 2001 for its effective role in higher education and research in different disciplines. The University was founded on 15th June, 1960. At present, it has around 115 affiliated colleges in five districts of Burdwan, Hooghly, Birbhum, Bankura and Purulia.
About Burdwan University DDE : Directorate of Distance Education in accordance with the suggestion of the Distance Education Council (DEC), was established in 1994. It was the first of its kind in West Bengal. It evolved and developed since its inception and now in 2008 it has a good infrastructure of its own. Situated in the Golapbag Campus, the DDE has a beautiful building of its own. It houses all the administrative departments of the directorate and holds counseling sessions for different courses it runs.
Burdwan University offers Courses like M.A. in BENGALI, ENGLISH, HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY, POLITICAL SCIENCE & SANSKRIT, M.A. / M.Sc. in MATHEMATICS, M.Com., M.Sc. in COMPUTER SCIENCE, MBA with specialization in Finance / Marketing/ HR/ Systems & Operations/ Insurance & Risk/ Media Management, M.B.A. in Insurance & Risk management, M.A./ M.Sc. in Remote Sensing & Geographic Information System.
Burdwan University conducts Year wise or annual exams for All Distance Courses. Accordingly Results will also be published by Directorate of Distance Education.
