Physical Standards Test (PST)

Marks for Height will be awarded as per the following table :

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Qualifying only –

Written Examination

Exam Pattern :- Scheme of HP Police Constable written test is as follows :

► The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
► There will be a composite paper of 80 marks.
► The duration of test will be 01:00 hour (60 minutes).
► The written exam will be of 10+2 standard except Mathematics for which standard shall be Matriculation.

Exam Syllabus :- HP Police Constable Syllabus is given below :

Hindi & English Languages (16+16 questions) : Candidates’ ability to understand correct language, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. Questions will be asked from error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc.

General Awareness (16 questions) : History, Geography and Socio Economic development of Himachal Pradesh and India. Knowledge of current events of National and International importance and such matters of every day observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. Paper will also include questions on Modern History of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India.

Math & Science (16 questions) : The test of Arithmetical and Numerical abilities will cover Number Systems including questions on Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, L.C.M., H.C.F., Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, Average, Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Tables & Graphs, etc. There will also be questions on Biology, species, Laws of Physics and Chemistry, Chemical properties.

Reasoning Aptitude (16 questions) : It will include the question of both verbal and non-verbal type. Question will be asked from analogies, similarities and and differences, problem solving, relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts and Ability to observe and distinguish patterns etc.

Personality Test (Interview)

Personality Test shall consist of 15 marks. Candidates who possess NCC certificates will be given a weightage of additional 3 marks for NCC(C) Certificate and 2 additional Marks for NCC(B) certificate in Personality Test. A candidates who has both these certificate will be given marks only for NCC(C) certificate (out of above 15 marks of Personality Test).
