Gauhati High Court will conduct Preliminary Written Exam and Main Exam for recruitment to the posts in Grade-I of Assam Judicial Service. Nowadays Competition Level become very high so Competitive Exams gets too tougher. So Candidates must be know that “What to prepare” and “How to prepare” for the best in their Exams. So, here we are providing the latest Syllabus & Exam Pattern of Grade-I Posts Exam conducting by Guahati High Court.
Preliminary Exam (Screening Test)
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Guwahati High Court Screening test is as Follows :-
► Written Test will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► The Time Duration of Test will be 02:00 Hours (120 Minutes).
► Question paper consist of 100 questions & 100 Marks.

Part-II (10 Marks)
→ To Test The Proficiency In The Official Language(S) Of The State Of Assam.
Main Exam
Exam Pattern : Exam Pattern for the Guwahati High Court Main Written Exam is as Follows :-
► Written Test will be Multiple Choice Objective Type.
► There will be four papers in final written exam.
► An Interview will be conducted after written exam of 50 marks.
Exam Syllabus : Exam Syllabus for Gauhati High Court Main Written Exam is given below:-
i) PAPER-I : One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) to test the General Knowledge, aptitude, intelligence, test of comprehension and expression of law and General English including Essay Writing on legal topic and information technology.
ii) PAPER-II : One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) regarding objective questions and problems of law as regards the Transfer of Property Act, Civil Procedure Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, Indian Evidence Act, Indian Penal Code, Limitation Act, The Arbitration & Conciliation Act, I 996, the Indian Contract Act, Family Law, Law relating to Specific Relief) The Motor Vehicle Act, Industrial and Labor Law, The Land Acquisition Act, Law relating to Trust, The Indian Registration Act and the Court Fees Act.
iii) PAPER-III : One paper of 100 marks (duration not less than 2 hours) — consisting ofJudgment writing (Paper Book will be supplied) — legal theories on jurisprudence, provision of Constitution of India.
iv) PAPER-IV : One paper of 50 marks (duration not less than 1 hour) to test the proficiency of the candidate in official language(s) of the State of Assam.
NOTE : The candidate is expected to refer to the relevant decisions of the Apex Court and the High Courts while writing answers in Paper II and III.
To be Noticed – All candidates who obtain 60 (sixty) percent or more aggregate marks in the Written Test subject to securing 45 percent marks in individual papers I, II & III and minimum 35% marks in the language paper shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Examination. Provided that Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe candidates who obtain 50 (fifty) percent or more aggregate marks subject to obtaining 40 percent marks in Individual paper I, II & III and minimum 35%marks in the language paper shall be eligible for Viva-Voce Examination.
In the Viva-Voce out of 50 marks the candidates will have to secure minimum 60% marks. The final selection shall be made subject to overall suitability.
