Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) is going to conduct a written test (DRDO Entry Test-2015) under Centre for Personnel Talent Management (CEPTAM). Various posts will be filled by this test such as Senior Technical Assistant(STA)-‘B’, Technician ‘A’, Junior Translator, Stenographer Grade II, Admin Assistant ‘A’, Store Assistant ‘A’, Asstt Halwai-cum-Cook and Vehicle Operator ‘A’.
A huge number of candidates wish to be a part of DRDO through this Entry Test. In the meanwhile, the level of competition getting arduous day by day. So it is needed a better to best preparation to crack exam. Now here we’re providing prescribed scheme of DRDO exam with detailed syllabus.
Exam Pattern :- DRDO Exam Pattern will be as follows :
► The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
► There shall be a separate paper for every post.
► Tier-I and Tier-II will carry 150 and 60 questions respectively.
► There shall be no negative marking.
► The medium for exam will be Hindi or English.

Tier-I Exam
a) For STA ‘B’ & Technician ‘A’: The written test will consist of (i) 50 questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence, Reasoning Ability, General Science and (ii) 100 questions on Subject concerned.
b) For Junior Translator: The written test will consist of (i) 50 questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence, Reasoning & Numerical Ability and (ii) 50 questions each on Hindi and English Language.
c) For Stenographer Grade II, Admin Assistant ‘A’ & Store Assistant ‘A’: The written examination will consist of (i) 50 questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence, Reasoning & Numerical Ability (ii) 50 questions on General English and (iii) 50 questions on Hindi OR English language.
d) For Vehicle Operator ‘A’ & Asstt. Halwai-cum-Cook: The written test will consist of (i) 100 questions on General Awareness, General Reasoning, Arithmetic, Numerical Ability (ii) 25 questions on General English (iii) 25 questions related to Job.
Tier-II Exam
a) For STA ‘B’ & Technician ‘A’: The written test will consist of (i) 10 questions on Knowledge about common Scientific/ Technological Advancement & current affairs and (ii)50 questions on Subject concerned.
b) For Junior Translator: The written test will consist of (i) 10 questions on General Awareness & current affairs and (ii) 25 questions each on Hindi and English Language.
c) For Stenographer Grade II, Admin Assistant ‘A’ & Store Assistant ‘A’: The written examination will consist of (i) 10 questions on General Awareness & current affairs (ii) 25 questions on General English and (iii) 25 questions on Hindi OR English language.
d) For Vehicle Operator ‘A’ & Asstt. Halwai-cum-Cook: The written test will consist of (i) 10 questions on General Awareness & current affairs (ii) 25 questions on General English (iii) 25 questions related to Job.
Exam Syllabus :- DRDO Exam Syllabus 2016 is as follows :
General Awareness : Questions are designed to test the candidate‟s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
General Intelligence/Reasoning : It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on Semantic Analogy, Symbolic operations, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Venn Diagrams, Symbolic/Number Classification, Drawing inferences, Figural Classification ,Punched hole/pattern-folding & unfolding, Semantic Series, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Number Series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding and de-coding, Other sub-topics, if any Numerical operations.
Numerical Ability : Questions will be ask from following topics:-
Number Systems: Computation of Whole Number, Decimal and Fractions, Relationship between numbers.
Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.
Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.
Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various kinds of centers, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and distances.
Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram, Pie-chart.
General English/Hindi : Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.
